Like the ocean smooths glass into beautiful pebbles, time can fundamentally reshape us.
This piece was one of the most difficult for me. The painting got too wild - it lost its calm focus. After some contemplation, I realized that there were powerful sections of the paintings that needed space to breathe. I “carved” out these spaces with white paint. You can still see some texture from the underpainting, hinting at what came before. Now I am elated with this piece - sometimes we just need to slow down and find the calm in the chaos.
