Artist Statement
My work is rooted in an ongoing dialogue between place, memory, and emotional response. Inspired by my travels and time spent moving through landscapes, my paintings reflect the way experiences gradually settle into feeling.
Organic shapes celebrate the beauty of imperfection, adding to a visual language that balances softness with structure. Layering is also central to my process. I play with varying transparencies, allowing forms to emerge, recede, and intersect. This gives each artwork a calm movement and a sense of quiet transformation.
Color is equally deliberate. I build each palette from the felt memory of a place or an experience. Certain combinations bring those impressions back into focus, allowing me to work from atmosphere rather than direct representation. In this way, color becomes both a container for memory and a way of shaping the emotional tone of the painting.
