Through September 15, you can see my work in a lovely neighborhood café in Amsterdam.

I’m thrilled to share that She Who Is Powerful, one of my larger mixed media paintings (80 × 60 cm), is currently on view at Taal Coffee, a beautiful café in Amsterdam’s Oud West neighborhood.

If you’ve been meaning to see my work in person, this is such a warm, accessible way to experience it.

She Who is Powerful

What I love about having my work in cafés is seeing how people interact with it—glancing up between sips, letting their eyes linger over the subtle mix of textures.

So if you’re in the area, I’d love for you to stop by, sit with She Who Is Powerful, and soak in the moment. Oh, and make sure to treat yourself while you’re there. My favorite menu items are the strawberry matcha and the pistachio cruffin.

Candace Alexandres is a contemporary mixed media artist. Her balance of delicate transparencies with bold organic shapes evokes calm introspection. She is captivated by the quite strengh and beautifully imperfect shape of stones, which often appear in her paintings.
